The Chavenage Challenges Sportive 2015
‘Everything was very carefully thought through – from the warm and friendly welcome in the beautiful setting of Chavenage House to the provision of first class delicious refreshments both at the house and en route’.
- 2014 Participant
There will be a rolling start from 8.00 am for the Chavenage Challenge and 9:00 am for the Cromwell Stroller, where riders will set out from the picturesque Elizabethan Manor House and cycle through the iconic avenue, which was once a road for horse and carriage and now the beautiful start for the unique Chavenage Challenges Sportive.
All riders will follow the same route for the first 20 miles, which will take them through a mixture of exquisite country lanes, sweeping descents and challenging ascents on the way to the first feeding station, located in a small Cotswold village. Here you can enjoy a variety of refreshments and energy foods to help fuel you through the next 20 miles back to Chavenage or to the second feeding station, for those doing the long route.
Upon return to Chavenage House you will be invited to exchange your number for a free buffet lunch, freshly prepared by Chavenage House's professional caterer. There will be a variety of other hospitality on offer including coffee, tea, ice cream, alcoholic beverages and more.
The routes have been carefully planned to be challenging but manageable and there will be a broom wagon following the sportive to help in the event of a puncture or mechanical issue.
So, whether you are a seasoned Sportive rider looking for a great day out or a new comer, the Chavenage Challenges Sportive is just right for you.
We hope to see you at Chavenage in May for a day of great cycling and first class hospitality!
Entries are now live and places are limited so enter now to avoid disappointment.
